Jack Forester's Fate. [A tale
A short Victorian moral tale by Catharine Shaw, issued in London by Shaw and Co. in 1893 for family and Sunday-school readers, with drink and rescue among its themes. Ten captioned full-page plates reproduce wash and chalk drawings of figures in doorways, on deck rails and clinging to masts, useful for period costume, gesture and dramatic single-figure silhouettes.
