Sheppard's Shippers' Guide to the South and West, embracing twenty-three states, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, etc
Sheppard's Shippers' Guide to the South and West, compiled by J. S. Sheppard in 1867, is a commercial directory of freight routes across twenty-three states, sold to merchants and shipping agents. Its pages carry wood-engraved advertising cuts of hoisting engines, cable winches, gearing and laundry mangles, with maker names cut into the block and dense line hatching usable as small industrial spot art.
