30 Bilder zu Horazens Werken, gestochen unter der Leitung von C. Frommel nach Zeichnungen v. Catel, Frommel, etc. (Erklärung der dreissig Bilder zu Horazens Werken, von ... Dr Sickler.)
A German plate volume of thirty engravings illustrating the works of Horace, cut under Carl Frommel's direction after drawings by Franz Ludwig Catel and others, with explanatory text by Friedrich Sickler, published 1829 for classically schooled readers. The plates are quiet topographical landscapes of Tivoli, the Sabine hills and the Campagna — dense clumped foliage in the foreground, hazy distant ranges, hilltop towns and ruins, tiny figures, with Latin place names lettered in spaced capitals below; useful for tree silhouettes, layered horizon lines and engraved skies.
