The Complete Works ... of Edmund Spenser ... Edited, with a new life ... and a glossary embracing notes and illustrations, by A. B. Grosart. vol. 1-9
A nine-volume scholarly edition of Edmund Spenser's works edited by Alexander Balloch Grosart and printed for private circulation in 1882, intended for subscribers and students of Elizabethan poetry. The plates reproduce the monthly woodcuts of The Shepheardes Calender: framed rectangular scenes of shepherds with crooks and pipes, sheep and pigs, haystacks, bare or leafy trees, hatched clouds and birds, with month names set below in type — usable as line-art vignettes, calendar headings, or pastoral border elements.
