A local antiquarian survey of Worcestershire parish churches, written by George K. Stanton and published in London by Simpkin, Marshall and Co. in 1884 for county readers and church visitors. The plates here are square woodcut initials — capitals set against stippled grounds with tulips, rosettes and foliage inside beaded and dotted borders — usable as drop caps or small ornamental panels.
