Treasure Island ... New edition, with original illustrations by Wal Paget
An illustrated edition of Robert Louis Stevenson's pirate adventure Treasure Island, drawn by Walter Paget for Cassell & Co. in London, 1899, aimed at young readers and the general novel-buying public. The wood-engraved plates stage figures on ship decks, in inn rooms and on hillside tracks, giving designers eighteenth-century coats, tricorns, rigging, ship's lanterns and crutch-bearing sailors, with captioned quotations beneath.
