Our Redcoats and Bluejackets: war pictures on land and sea: forming a continuous narrative of the Naval and Military History of England from the year 1793 to the present time, etc
A popular illustrated history of British naval and military campaigns from 1793 onward, written by the miscellaneous writer Henry Stewart and issued in London around 1880 for general readers. The plates gathered here are not battle scenes but the book's small engraved tailpieces: symmetrical foliate ornaments of acanthus scrolls, palm-like fronds, buds and dotted sprays, useful as chapter-end marks, spacers or line-art motifs for borders and monogram surrounds.
