How they were Caught in a Trap. A tale of France in 1802
A short historical novel for young readers set in France in 1802, written by Amélie Claire le Roy under the name Esmé Stuart and issued by Marcus Ward & Co. in 1880. The plates are wood-engraved chapter ornaments in fine outline: triangular flower-and-leaf clusters, symmetrical foliate scrollwork with acorns and rosettes, and a scrolled urn tailpiece, usable as spot decoration, dividers and frame corners.
