George Faulkner's eight-volume Dublin edition of Jonathan Swift's collected works, printed in 1746 for subscribers and readers of his prose, verse, Gulliver's Travels and Irish tracts. The 58 plates are printers' headpiece ornaments: rectangular woodcut panels with rope-twist frames enclosing reclining putti, flaming urns, flower garlands and symmetrical acanthus scrolls, usable as borders, rules and repeatable vignette units.
