Cyrilla, a tale
A three-volume Victorian novel of German court and country life by Jemima von Tautphoeus, an Irish-born baroness living in Bavaria, issued in a London reprint edition of 1872 for the circulating-library readership. The seven images are not scenes but small outline plant vignettes used as chapter ornaments — pinks, lilies, strawberry runners and a bell-flower drawn in even contour lines with light hatching and curling acanthus-style leaves, ready use as spot decorations, endpaper repeats or single-weight botanical motifs.
