The Oxford Thackeray. With illustrations. [Edited with introductions by George Saintsbury
A collected edition of Thackeray's works, edited by George Saintsbury and issued by Oxford University Press in the early twentieth century for general and student readers, reprinting the author's own drawings alongside the texts. The pictures are small pen-and-ink vignettes set into the type, showing Victorian figures in top hats and crinolines, servants and mistresses in plain interiors, and drawing-room encounters, drawn in loose hatched line with no borders — usable as text-scale spot figures and period costume silhouettes.
