Picturesque Scenery in Wales, illustrated by thirty-seven engravings on steel, by H. Adlard, Allen, Gastineau and others. With descriptions by J. Tillotson
A topographical picture book of Wales published in London in 1860, with thirty-seven steel engravings after Henry Gastineau and others and short descriptive texts by J. Tillotson, sold to tourists and armchair travellers. The plates are fine-lined landscape views — river valleys, waterfalls, castle ruins, bridges and small towns framed by foliage — usable for engraved skies, layered hills and tree silhouettes.
