Bond Slaves. The story of a struggle
A late Victorian novel by Isabella Banks, published in London by Griffith, Farran & Co. in 1893 for the general circulating-library reader. The plates are small wood-engraved plant vignettes used as chapter headings and tailpieces — a single cranesbill bloom, a dog rose with hips, an apple on a leafy branch, ragged pinks — each cut loose on white with no frame, ready to lift as a spot ornament.
