Ripples and Breakers. A volume of verse ... Illustrated, etc
A volume of verse by Isabella Varley Banks, published in London in 1878 with wood engravings by John Proctor and G. C. Banks for Victorian readers of gift poetry. The plates are page ornaments rather than scenes: ivy and oak headpieces enclosing portrait medallions and crossed swords, a lighthouse and breaking surf inside a beaded roundel, display capitals grown over a ruined keep, and a strapwork tailpiece with swags and drops.
