Очерки перомъ и карандащемъ изъ кругосвѣтнаго плаванія въ 1857, 1858, 1859 и 1860 годахъ ... Изданіе второе, исправленное. Съ ... рисункамн
A Russian illustrated travel narrative by naval physician Aleksei Vyshcheslavtsev, recording a circumnavigation of 1857-1860 in pen-and-pencil sketches, issued in a corrected second edition in 1867 for readers at home. The 24 plates are tinted lithographs with Russian captions: a square-rigged ship under cloud on open water, mountain gorges with waterfalls, and close groups of figures in Japanese and Chinese dress, useful for soft monochrome tonal washes, crowd groupings, and rigging silhouettes.
