Belle and the Dragon. An elfin comedy
Arthur Edward Waite's "Belle and the Dragon. An elfin comedy," published in London by J. Elliott & Co. in 1894, a late-Victorian fairy fantasy for adult readers of the occult-tinged literary scene. The 39 line drawings show bat-winged fairies, a Gothic vine-covered archway with lettered scrolls, and couples in open landscape, all in sparse pen outline with open white space usable as vignettes and page ornaments.
