A collection of frontier tales by Henry C. Watson of Philadelphia, published in 1852 for popular American readers of border adventure stories. The wood engravings are small vignettes of Native American figures, hunters and campfire groups set among fallen logs and scrubby woods, drawn with ruled horizontal hatching for sky and water and soft open edges that fade into the page.
