Persia as it is. Being sketches of modern Persian Life and Character
Sketches of everyday Persian life and character by Charles James Wills, an English physician who had worked in Persia, published in London by Sampson Low in 1886 for British general readers. Line-drawn chapter head- and tailpieces mix symmetrical eagle-and-mask ornament with scrolling foliage, alongside a facsimile of a crude Persian woodcut of a club-bearing figure; useful for ornament, borders and naive figure stamps.
