A one-volume narrative history of Wales from antiquity to union with England, written by Bernard Bolingbroke Woodward and published in London in 1853 for general British readers. The plates are small steel-engraved landscapes, printed sideways as full-page views: castles, abbey ruins, country houses and bridges set among dense foliage, hills and reflective water, with fine tonal gradation useful for soft grey backgrounds and vignette framing.
