CRUIKSHANK, Isaac., WOODWARD, George Moutard. · 1807 · 100 pictures

A comic travel book of 1807 by George Moutard Woodward, etched by Isaac Cruikshank and published in London for the print-buying public, recording regional types and incidents met on tours through England and South Wales. The plates are sparse outline etchings, mostly caricatured figures on blank ground with engraved script captions, some divided into panels of repeated poses, giving designers ready-cut character silhouettes, period costume, and lettering that sits directly under an image.
