Furlough Reminiscences. A Potpourri of reflections, observations and incidents, compiled from the diary of a happy holiday in England, by Wyvern
A holiday diary of reflections and incidents recorded during an English furlough, written under the pen name Wyvern and published in 1880 by Higginbotham & Co. of Madras for British readers in India. The pictures are printer's ornaments rather than scenes: a wood-engraved urn crowded with tulips and poppies above a figured frieze, and a horizontal swag of grapevine and bunched grapes flanking a two-handled bowl, both usable as chapter headpieces, tailpieces or small repeating motifs.
