A county history of Wayne County, Indiana, compiled by Andrew W. Young and published in 1872 for local subscribers, pairing settlement narrative with biographical and family sketches. The plates are lithographic bust portraits, mostly by Strobridge & Co. of Cincinnati, of elderly settlers in dark coats and stocks against soft stippled oval vignettes that fade into blank paper, useful for stipple shading, vignette masks, and period faces and collars.
