A Winter Tour in South Africa, etc
A travel narrative of Sir Frederick Young's 1889 journey through South Africa, issued in London by Petherick & Co. in 1890 for British readers following colonial development in Natal and the Cape. The plates are sepia halftone photographs framed by thin ruled borders with small capitalised captions, showing wide dusty streets in Maritzburg, the Durban harbour breakwater and Town Hall, and an ox-drawn wagon team; useful for period photographic tone, empty foreground space and plain caption framing.
