Estanislao Severo Zeballos's Spanish-language account of the Mapuche chief Callvucurá and his lineage, issued in a second edition in Buenos Aires in 1890 for Argentine readers of frontier history. The plates here are wood-engraved horizontal headbands: white acanthus scrollwork, vines and grotesques reversed out of solid black, centred on shields, urns, helmets and small figure medallions, usable as rules, chapter heads and frame borders.
