A short history of the French Revolution, for young people, etc
A one-volume narrative history of the French Revolution written for young readers by Lydia Hoyt Farmer and published by T. Y. Crowell in New York in 1880. The full-page wood-engraved plates stage crowd events—labour on the Field of Mars, the royal family's arrest, the September prison massacres, the corpses at Avignon—in dense tonal hatching with captions set sideways, useful for period crowd scenes, revolutionary costume and dramatic figure groupings.
