Burley in Philadelphia in 1876 for merchants, manufacturers and travellers. Wood-engraved advertisement cuts show factory complexes with smoking chimneys, multi-storey commercial blocks in perspective, and machinery such as paper cutters rendered in fine mechanical detail, with heavy display lettering alongside.
