An exhibition catalogue for a showing of George A. Hearn's modern British paintings and ancient Egyptian ivories at the Lotos Club in New York, March 1913, printed by the Winthrop Press for club members and visitors. The plates are coarse-screened halftones of oil paintings — sea and cloud studies, figures in gardens, wooded streams — reduced to grainy grey masses that suit designers after soft-edged monochrome texture, atmospheric backgrounds, and indistinct figure groups.
