The book of art for young people
An introduction to European painting for children, written by Agnes Ethel Conway and her father Sir William Martin Conway and published by A. and C. Black in London in 1914. The plates are colour reproductions of gallery paintings printed with heavy dark varnished tones, covering Nativity and dragon-slaying scenes, full-length child portraits, and coastal landscapes with figures, useful as sources of warm amber and umber painterly texture.
