A book of old embroidery
A survey of historic needlework published by The Studio in London and New York in 1921, with text by A. F. Kendrick and editing by C. Geoffrey Holme, aimed at collectors, embroiderers and designers. The 120 halftone plates show whole coverlets, hangings, borders and scalloped edges in close detail: scrolling vine grounds, flowering urns, birds, and dense allover repeats usable as pattern fills and border strips.
