A salesman's sample book issued by the Paris firm Fortin in 1825, recording printed and woven dress fabrics for buyers and the textile trade. Each page mounts small swatches in two green-ruled columns with handwritten pattern numbers in red, showing florals, paisleys, plaids, stripes, moirés and small geometric repeats in madder reds, browns, indigo and acid yellow.
