A book of samples of papers manufactured to print properly all kinds of illustrations; together with a book of the same papers printed and lithographed in all of the principal processes used for illustration
A 1922 paper-sample book issued by Champion Papers of New York for printers, publishers and art buyers, pairing swatches of coated and uncoated stock with the same subjects reproduced by each major illustration process. The plates repeat one image — the White House across the lily pond — as pen-and-ink line drawing, halftone, photogravure and lithograph, useful for comparing line weight, screen texture and sepia duotone tints.
