A book of studies in plant form with some suggestions for their application to design
A drawing manual of plant studies by A. E. V. Lilley and W. Midgeley, published by Scribner in New York in 1896 for art students and ornament designers. Pen-and-ink plates show wild flowers, weeds and creepers drawn as flat silhouettes and open outline, each with a small inset panel converting the plant into a repeating tile or border.
