Bordeaux
A volume on Bordeaux by the French art critic Charles Saunier, issued in Paris by H. Laurens in 1909 as part of a series of illustrated city monographs for travellers and students of architecture. Halftone photographs record eighteenth-century stonework at close range: rusticated facades, sculpted keystones and portals, the Grand-Théâtre's colonnaded stair and auditorium, useful for classical ornament details and repeating window bays.
