The boy's modern playmate : a book of sports, games, and pastimes
A compiled handbook of sports, games, and pastimes for boys, edited by naturalist J. G. Wood with wood engravings by George and Edward Dalziel, published by Frederick Warne in London and New York in 1890. The plates are small line engravings of apparatus and physics demonstrations — reel mechanisms, pulley systems with labelled weights, a wooden bagatelle board, a Leyden-jar condenser on its stand — usable as diagram spot art.
