Brighton and its coaches : a history of the London and Brighton Road, with some account of the provincial coaches that have run from Brighton
A history of the London-to-Brighton coaching road and its provincial services, written by William C. A. Blew and published by J. C. Nimmo in London in 1894 for road-history and horse enthusiasts. The plates are hand-coloured prints after Alken-school sporting artists, showing four-horse coaches on open downland and in front of terraced town houses, with loaded roofs, guards, ostlers and crowds; useful for harness detail, coach silhouettes, horse teams in motion, and pale washed skies over low horizons.
