The British gardener's new director : chiefly adapted to the climate of the northern counties: directing the necessary works in the kitchen, fruit and pleasure gardens, and in the nursery, greenhouse, and stove ...
A practical gardening manual by Sir James Justice, reprinted in Dublin by John Exshaw in 1771 for gentlemen gardeners working the colder northern counties of Britain. The plates are engraved architectural diagrams of heated glasshouses and stoves cut in section, elevation and ground plan, with keyed reference letters, numbered flue runs, measured scale bars and hatched brickwork useful as technical line ornament.
