Browere's life masks of great Americans
A study by Charles Henry Hart of the plaster life masks John Henri Isaac Browere took from Jefferson, Lafayette and other early Americans, printed at the De Vinne Press in 1899 for collectors and students of American sculpture. Halftone plates show white plaster heads in profile and three-quarter view against dark stippled grounds, useful for stark portrait silhouettes and modeled light.
