Bryan's dictionary of painters and engravers
A multi-volume biographical dictionary of painters and engravers, begun by Michael Bryan and revised by George Charles Williamson, issued in New York by Macmillan in 1903 for collectors, dealers and art students. The plates are halftone reproductions of European paintings — Holy Families, mythological groups, altarpiece wings, portraits — printed dark and soft, useful as period photographic texture and compositional reference.
