Calendarivm Romanvm magnum : Caesaree maiestati dicatum

Stoeffler, Johann, 1452-1531 · 1518 · Impressum in Oppenheym : Per Jacobum Köbel [et]c. · 116 pictures

Johann Stöffler's Calendarium Romanum magnum, a Latin calendar and astronomical reference printed at Oppenheim by Jakob Köbel in 1518 and dedicated to the Emperor, made for scholars and clergy reckoning feast days and celestial cycles. The plates are mostly woodcut initials—white acanthus, vine and rosette forms reserved against dense black or star-flecked grounds—alongside ruled calendar tables of letters and numerals.
