The call of the stars;
A popular astronomy handbook by John Robert Kippax, published by G. P. Putnam's Sons in New York and London in 1919 for amateur observers and general readers of the night sky. The plates are halftone reproductions of telescopic photographs template nebulae, star clusters, ring nebulae and dense Milky Way fields printed as white points and diffuse grey clouds on deep black grounds, useful for grainy cosmic textures, scatter patterns and high-contrast star backgrounds.
