Inside Out Library

Caricature. Wit and humor of a nation in picture, song and story

1914 · New York : Leslie-Judge · 262 pictures

An anthology of American magazine cartoons, comic verse and humorous sketches published by Leslie-Judge in New York in 1914, collecting work by staff artists of Life, Judge and Puck for a general middle-class readership. The drawings are pen-and-ink and soft charcoal social scenes — parlors, hotel lobbies, servants, dowagers, military types — with signatures intact and captions cut, giving usable figure groups and period dress.
