The carman's helper
A 1920 trade manual for railroad car inspectors and repairmen, written by Hugh Kidd Christie and issued by the Railway Educational Press in Chicago. Coarse-screen halftone photographs show freight car trucks, journal boxes, brake rigging, wheels and axle stampings at close range, often with dashed white overlays marking defects; useful for gritty industrial textures, machine-part silhouettes, and stenciled lettering on car sides.
