Carotinoids and related pigments : the chromolipoids
A 1922 biochemical monograph by Leroy Sheldon Palmer on carotinoids and other chromolipoids, published in New York by the Chemical Catalog Company for chemists and biologists. The plates are circular photomicrographs of crystallized pigments, printed in high-contrast black on pale grounds: needles, blades and starburst clusters crossing at sharp angles, usable as abstract line texture, mark-making or roundel motifs.
