Carpaccio
A 1903 Boston monograph from Bates and Guild on the Venetian painter Vittore Carpaccio, issued for art students and general readers in a series of small picture-and-text studies. Twenty halftone plates reproduce his narrative canvases: processions on bridges and piazzas, colonnaded courtyards, saints in tiled studies, ships and crowds, useful for period costume, Venetian architecture, and dense figure groupings.
