Carvings and sculptures of Worcester Cathedral
A photographic record of the medieval woodwork and stone carving at Worcester Cathedral, compiled by Elijah Aldis with text by local antiquary John Noake and issued by Bemrose in London in 1873 for antiquarians and church restorers. Numbered plates show misericord seats, spandrel reliefs and foliate bosses lit raking against plain walls, giving figure groups, beasts and curling leaf scrolls in strong light and shadow.
