Caspari Bartholini Thom. F. De inauribus veterum syntagma : accedit Mantissa ex Thomae Bartholini Miscellaneis medicis de Annulis narium
A Latin antiquarian treatise on the earrings of the ancients by Caspar Bartholin, with an appendix from Thomas Bartholin on nose rings, printed in Amsterdam by Henrik Wetstein in 1676 for scholars of classical antiquity and numismatics. The plates are small line-engraved coins and medallions showing profile heads with braided and piled hair, pendant earrings, pearl collars, veils, dolphins, crescents and stars, ringed by beaded borders and Roman lettering, useful as circular emblems, profile silhouettes and jewellery detail.
