The castle of knowledge
An English introduction to astronomy and the sphere, written as a dialogue between Master and Scholar by Robert Recorde and printed in London by Reginalde Wolfe in 1556 for readers without Latin. The pages mix blackletter and roman text with side-notes and woodcut line diagrams of circles, meridians, horizons and sighting instruments, useful for compass-drawn geometry and early technical labelling.
