An auction catalogue of the printed books and manuscripts of the Prince de Soubise, printed by Charles-Guillaume Leclerc in Paris in 1788 for the sale announced in January 1789 and used by Parisian booksellers and collectors. The images are close crops of a buyer's handwritten margin notes in brown iron-gall ink on toned laid paper — livre-and-sou prices, dashes, tally figures and looping brace marks — usable as period handwriting, ink texture and numeral specimens.
