A 1913 Madrid museum catalogue of the Prado's paintings, compiled after Pedro de Madrazo's scholarship and published by the photographer J. Lacoste for visitors, collectors and copyists. Its 106 halftone plates reproduce Spanish and Italian canvases — saints in vision, battle crowds, holy families — in soft grey tones with plate numbers, captions and library stamps usable as found texture.
