Illustrated catalogue of the fine-arts section of the 1897 Brussels-Tervueren international exposition, issued in Paris by E. Bernard & cie for fairgoers, exhibitors and art buyers. The 220 plates are halftone reproductions of exhibited paintings and sculpture, mostly figure groups in landscape, farm and market scenes, cattle by water and dim domestic interiors, printed in soft, coarse grays that designers can use for period texture, silhouetted crowd shapes and late-nineteenth-century salon subject matter.
